Lake Toxaway is a private, gated mountain community located just minutes from Cashiers, Highlands, and Brevard, N.C., in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

The Lake Toxaway community has a rich history that dates back to the early 1900s when prominent turn-of-the-century families retreated to the area to embrace the unspoiled beauty of Mother Nature and enjoy the company of dear friends and family.

Over 100 years later, Lake Toxaway Country Club takes great pride in preserving the community's time-honored traditions by going the extra mile to treat our members and guests as members of the family and providing a respite from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Today the club is home to 450 families and plays 13,000 rounds during the 8-month season.

One of the club's most unique benefits is its location. Nestled in the heart of North Carolina's most beautiful, unspoiled mountains, the club is conveniently located just a short drive from major metro areas such as Atlanta, Charlotte, Asheville, and Columbia, SC., making it a desired and easily accessible weekend and summer retreat for families.

Lake Toxaway Country Club underwent a complete course redesigned in 2010 by Chris Spence. Chris Spence changed the course layout by rerouting 14 of the 18 original holes on the course. The Main Clubhouse and Professional Shop also underwent a $ 7 million renovation in 2017. Phase Two of the renovation plan was completed in Fall of 2020 with the construction of Lake Club, which features a new pool complex and paddleball courts.

Essential Responsibilities

• Create a warm and friendly atmosphere in the Golf Professional Shop and Tennis Shop.
• Responsible for purchasing all merchandise for the Golf Professional Shop and Tennis Shop, with the guidance of the Director of Golf and Head Tennis Professional.
• Coordinate and lead monthly inventory. This includes physical counts, adjustments, and creating/generating monthly inventory reports.
• Create and implement a marketing and sales program.
• Target Sales by using the Golf Genius Golf Shop Software.
• Effectively manage the merchandise flow from delivery to display on the shop floor. This includes unpacking shipments, receiving into POS, pricing, and creating/assisting with merchandise displays.
• Manage and oversee the Special Order program. The club currently uses Golf Genius Golf Shop.
• Maintaining superior visual merchandising displays in the Golf and Tennis Shop and ensuring daily standards are upheld.
• Coordinate and educate special merchandise events and programs. These programs should include the following but are not limited to:
• Best Merchandise Pratices.
• Education Professional Staff on items in the shop.
• Merchandising (Folding styles)
• Manage and maintain online shop during the holiday season.
• Work jointly with Professional Staff on ordering tournament gifts and awards.
• Implement standard cleaning procedures for the staff to complete when opening and closing the shop.
• Responsible for ordering staff uniforms.
• Willingly perform golf/tennis shop administrative duties, including open and closing procedures, answering phone calls, and scheduling court/tee times and lessons.
• Create and evaluate member surveys. This will include items offered in the Golf and Tennis shop, sizing, etc.
• Promote all upcoming golf and tennis events/tournaments.
• Provide a consistently high level of customer service to the membership and be able to anticipate their needs.
• The Retail Manager/Merchandiser will work closely with the Director Of Golf and Head Tennis Professional.
• Must be able to work all shifts, days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Understand and enforce club rules and policies.
